Murder of Crows
Murder of Crows by Anne Bishop

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Content warnings: blood, cutting, mentions of death by cutting, mentions of death from cutting, mentions of suicide, mentions of rape, mentions of forced impregnation/breeding, gun violence, death, mass murder, descriptions of gore, mention and talks of menstruation, slight misogyny in regards towards menstruation, mentions of drug usage

I honestly think this book was better than the first. The first was pretty good. But the first had to do a lot of world building to set everything up. So while there was story line that was interesting it was more world building than not. This book didn’t have to worry about world building. Which was nice.

I REALLY DID NOT like the whole talk of belief that “women are crazy at that time of the month”. Yeah we had Vlad say “If you choose to believe what other human males say about them” or something like that but there was still the pervading thought.

I also don’t like the whole idea of the forced impregnation/breeding of the blood prophets just to breed more of them.

I liked learning more about them and more about scary girl from the coffee shop.

All in all good book, terrible to read as a stand alone (unless you thrive on little information for backstory and world building), but good nonetheless.

But it now:
