Review: The Girl with the Iron Touch

At this point, I’m so over the “love” story in this series that I’m really only reading this series because of Emily. She talks to machines and is praised and valued for abilities to do so.

So this one she gets kidnapped and our rival from the first book (not the novella before the first book but the actual first book) reappears. *rolls eyes* Oh joy.

A part of the prior book is a part of a big plot point of this book. And it’s something I had a feeling was going to happen.

And another pairing finally admits feelings for each other (y’know because it hasn’t been glaringly obvious in the prior two books that they were going to get together). Finley and Griffin take a huge step in their relationship. And Jack gets an admirer.

Jack might be my other reason for reading the books. Because I like unsavoury characters. And he definitely fits the bill of unsavoury character.

But really this is the same romance-y b.s. that we’re trying to shove down everyone’s throats and saying “HEY LOOK HOW NEW AND UNCOMMON AND A GREAT IDEA THIS IS!” And it’s trite and tropey and tired. And I’m bored. But also a huge masochist when it comes to reading so there’s that.
