Ugh. FEELINGS!

Seriously. SO MANY FEELINGS. This was a FANTASTIC book. I mean I’ve heard from others that it was good, but good doesn’t even begin to describe this masterpiece!

I honestly hope that the author plans to write more than just a companion book to this.

Let’s be honest here, I read A LOT of YA Dystopian Fiction. I’m actually quite the fan of it even though a lot of it is the same boring shit over and over. White people have to break out of this thing and do this thing. This was a refreshing breath of fresh air. Non white main character? check. Non male main character? check. Interesting premise? triple fucking check.

This book would be fine as a standalone because it definitely has an ending but that ending leaves you with a bunch of questions that you can leave to your imagination. But I am incredibly glad that it’s getting at least one more book to follow up.

I don’t even know where to start with this because all I want to do is just get a bunch of copies of the book and shove them in everyone’s faces and make them read it. Because it’s THAT good.

I like the spying and espionage. That was pretty great. Especially since it wasn’t someone who was rich or had disposable income. It was someone who was scared and doing what they could to survive and try to save their sibling. And it was fantastically portrayed.

Seriously I can’t say this enough. Go buy this book (or check it out from your library) and read it. You’ll be glad.
