I received a free ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

So there’s quite a few things that happen in this story and I’m going to try to talk about them without spoiling the book.

I actually really enjoyed this book. More than I thought I would.

I mean when I first read the description I was like “eh. It sounds like it *COULD* be interesting, sure let’s get an ARC and see if it holds up”. And then once I got into it (like a chapter or two in), I was like “oooooohhhhhhh I’m really liking this” and then I was cursing my eyes for making me put it down to sleep because I really wanted to finish it in one go.

I like that everything was eventually explained AND that her sister KNEW she wouldn’t be a good mother but knew her sister would and went ahead and started the process on her sister becoming the child’s legal guardian to prevent the baby from growing up and turning out like her.

I hate to say that how the pregnant sister acted is pretty typical of spoiled kids. They do what they want because they believe they’re invincible and that it’s their right to do as they want. And that how she acted in her abusive relationship is how actual abuse victims/survivors act.

Abusive relationships are really hard to get out of. I honestly don’t blame her for how she acted every time someone tried to get her to leave. Only because I’ve been there and know first hand how things wind up working.

Ronan and Keely happily surprised me with their actions. Especially Keely. There’s not many teenage/young adult type people that I know or know of that would be able to step up like she did. And then Ronan deciding that he was going to step up to help her made me really happy. Because again, not many males in general (I know a lot who would but I’ve found they’re not the norm) would do what he did without having to HAVE to do so.

This is a lot harder than I expected to be able to write because everything I want to talk about is going to be spoilers and I really don’t want to spoil this book for anyone. It’s a great book I highly recommend it.
