The Canterbury Tales
The Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Content warnings: violence, sex, thievery, implications of rape

I really enjoyed this. Even with the outdated language and such. But I’m also a fan of Shakespeare as well. Which makes sense on why the language doesn’t bother me.

It’s bawdy, it’s witty, and you can tell that it was written more for courtly people (as opposed to shakespeare which was crude and written for the masses).

There’s not a lot I can really say about this, especially as I’m not going through all 20 stories individually.

I enjoyed this though and if you like older stuff and rhyming stuff you’ll most likely enjoy this.
